About Mark 

Mark Allan is a graduate from 1993 of The West of Scotland University, having a BSc in Land Economics. Mark started his career as a Chartered Surveyor at Fuller Peiser in Edinburgh, before progressing through the ranks at Speirs Gumley, then becoming a Director of Professional Services at Chesterton International plc in 2000. 

He moved to Cushman & Wakefield LLP in 2004, where he remained until August 2014 before resigning from his position of Partner and Head of Lease Advisory Services in Scotland to set up MAPC. In addition to running MAPC, Mark works part time for Edrington, a Scottish based whisky company with a global office footprint. 

Mark advises the business on their global office portfolio to ensure it secures best value and is fit for purpose. Mark is a Chairman on the RICS panel for the Assessment of Professional Competence, where budding surveyors aspire to achieve Chartered status.

  • Rent review dispute resolution: If we are unable to amicably agree your rent review, we will usually act as a Surveyor-Advocate to provide complex, technical written submissions and counter submissions to Independent Experts/Arbitrators who are appointed to resolve the dispute
  • Lease re-gearing/renewal, and surrender: Business drivers change over time and impact on your property, so you may need to reconsider your lease terms, if you wish to stay in the same building. We negotiate the best possible financial and commercial lease terms to ensure your property meets the business need by considering lease expiries and break options. When sub-letting or assigning your lease is not an option, we can negotiate with your landlord to agree acceptable terms for a lease surrender
